Your public ambulance service in Washington County, Kentucky
Two ambulances with two crew members each are on duty at all times. We aim to have at least one paramedic on duty at all times to provide advanced level care where necessary. Local rescue squads provide first response to outlying areas of the community.
Washington County has 12,000 people and is 310 square miles in size. The County Seat and home of the ambulance service is Springfield, Kentucky. We are located an hour’s drive from Louisville and Lexington. The closest emergency department and air medical base is only a 10-minute drive from Springfield.
The Washington County Ambulance Service is operated by the Washington County Fiscal Court. Our EMS Director is Mr. Mike Phillips and our medical director is Dr. Allan Smith.
